| MYLAR is made in a variety of different Types, many in either roll or sheet form, in a variety of guages and widths. Each type is designed for a specific application. TYPE A: is a strong, tough, dimensionally stable film for general purpose applications such as engineering reproduction materials, stationery supplies, apparel stays and industrial laminations with other flexible materials. |
TYPE S: is a transparent film with a brilliant surface designed for office supplies, book jacket covers and sheet protectors. TYPE D: with even greater clarity and brilliance than type S, is often used as a substrate for microfilm, photographic and graphic arts films. |
TYPE EL: is a general purpose electrical/
electronic grade polyester film which has an excellent balance of physical properties. It is Commonly used as the printed circuit base in membrane switch applications. Type EB-11: is a polyester film of low gloss with matte properties going completely through it. It is an exceptionally strong film with high resistance to acids, mild bases and solvents. Type EB-11 is used as a graphic base in membrane switch and other applications where a low gloss appearance is required. |
